2027: Atiku Urges Nigerians to Collect PVCs, Pledges Economic Relief

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has urged eligible Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), promising to reduce the cost of living and strengthen security if given the opportunity to lead the country.

Atiku blamed President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the rising cost of living, saying Nigerians across different age groups and economic backgrounds were struggling with financial difficulties and growing insecurity.

In a statement, the former vice-president highlighted the challenges facing families, pensioners and young people, noting that many households were finding it increasingly difficult to afford basic necessities.

He said parents were worried about providing food for their children, while pensioners faced difficult choices between purchasing medication and meeting their daily food needs. He also noted that many young workers were struggling to cope with rising transportation costs, rent and other essential expenses.

Atiku further expressed concern over the security situation in the country, saying many families continued to live in fear of kidnapping, attacks and uncertainty over the safety of their loved ones.

He warned that Nigerians should not be forced to endure hunger and insecurity simultaneously, stressing the need to prevent the country’s current challenges from being passed on to future generations.

The ADC presidential candidate called on registered voters to obtain and safeguard their PVCs, describing the cards as essential tools for exercising their democratic rights and pursuing peaceful political change.

“If you are a registered voter, please go and collect your PVC. Hold on to it. It is your voice, your choice and your peaceful power to demand change,” he said.

Atiku also criticised Tinubu’s economic policies, accusing his administration of making life increasingly expensive for ordinary Nigerians.

He pledged to work towards reducing the cost of living and improving national security if elected, insisting that Nigerians deserved more affordable living conditions and greater protection.

“Bola made life expensive. I will work to make life affordable again and restore the security every Nigerian deserves,” Atiku said.
