US Singer D4vd Arrested in Connection With Teenager’s Death

American singer D4vd has been arrested in Los Angeles in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl whose remains were discovered in a vehicle linked to him, authorities have confirmed.

The 21-year-old artist, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is currently being held without bail while investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the case. The victim, identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez, had been reported missing in 2024.

According to police, detectives were called to a tow yard in Hollywood in September after workers noticed a strong, unpleasant odor coming from an impounded car registered to Burke. The vehicle had earlier been towed from the Hollywood Hills after it was found abandoned. Upon inspection, officers discovered dismembered human remains inside, which were later confirmed to be those of the missing teenager.

The Los Angeles medical examiner reported that the victim had been dead for a significant period before being found.

Authorities say the case will be submitted to prosecutors for review on Monday. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office stated that a decision on whether to file charges will depend on whether there is enough evidence.

Burke’s legal representatives have denied any involvement in the crime, emphasizing that no formal charges have been filed. In a statement, they said that their client is only being held on suspicion and that evidence will ultimately prove he was not responsible for the teenager’s death.

The arrest comes after several months of investigation, including a grand jury inquiry. Police had earlier noted that Burke was cooperating with authorities.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez was last seen in Lake Elsinore, located about 60 miles from Los Angeles. Investigators have not yet revealed any possible connection between her and the singer.
